We are pleased to announce that the F-4C/D Phantom II and Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-8 are now shipping. Our great warehouse staff is packaging kits to ship as I type this. They should be on your local hobby dealers shelves soon. If they do not have them, ask them to get some or order form our store. As always we thank all the modelers out there for their continued support.

News has been received at AM concerning the death of Bill Hardman, Commander, USN - retired.
Over the years of researching aircraft at the Naval Aviation Museum, Bill was my contact and guide
through the wealth of historical data on site. He had volunteered more than 10,000 hours at the
Museum and gave freely of his knowledge with sincere enthusiasm…..
Part of Bill not known by many was that he was shot down on 21 August 1967 while flying as
a Bomb/Nav in an A-6A from VA-196 attacking the Duc Noi railyard in RP6… he endured years
of imprisonment and was released on 15 March 1973. Bill served four more years and retired
as a Commander… It is difficult to convey the deep respect for a man like Bill who truly enjoyed
aviation history and scale modeling as his way of coping with “rough times”…. Like so many
thousands of others who served in SEA, Bill came home, got on with his life, and made many
new friends and acquaintances…. he let you into the parts of life that brought him enjoyment
and closed off the parts that he would rather forget… he was a true friend of mine..
Bill suffered chest pains on Tuesday morning after his daily workout and expired at a hospital
in Pensacola, FL. He was interred at the National Cemetery at Fort Barracas, FL on 2 June..
He as 74..
Godspeed Commander.. you will be missed!!

We are just completing an Ebay Store that will have limited quantities of previously discontinued AM kits. The number of available units may be as small as 2 or 3 and when these are sold through, they are truly gone!!
The eBay address is http://stores.ebay.com/Accurate-Miniatures
Our thanks go out to all wholesalers, retailers, and model builders who continue to support the Accurate Miniatures product line. In view of difficult economic times, it is apparent that folks who build models are staying home and building models. We have experienced complete sell-outs of the 0408, P-39 Skylanes Racing Airacobra, 1021, F4B-4/P6E, and are nearly sold out of the 0409, F2G Corsair Air Racer, and the 1020, P-40/P-51B!!!
Thanks for your support and may we wish you all continued enjoyment of Accurate Miniatures replicas.
We sometimes forget the men and woman who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Please take the time this Memorial Day, May 26th, to honor them. We owe them great respect and gratitude, for without them we would not have many of the freedoms we enjoy today.
To those men and woman: We will never forget you and your great service for our freedoms.

We anticipate shipping the new Fw-190 & F-4 starting during the last week of May, and the first week of June. Be sure to visit your local hobby shop to ask for these new kits.
We are almost sold out of 0408 P-39 Air Racer and are sold out of 1021 F4b-4/P-6E e-z build kits. These kits are now discontinued and will not be restocked. The good news is that we will be continuing the Air Racing series as well as the e-z build series with what we consider natural follow-ups to these now discontinued kits. Information will be coming soon on these additions to the catalog.
Packaging for the new Accurate Miniatures kits is being expertly printed by Electric City Printing. Sonny Schug has created box top art for the new Fw-190-A8, and James Moody painted the art for the F-4C/D Phantom II. Models for the box bottoms were built by Steven Murphy & Todd Amick, respectively.
Look for these new kits at your local hobby retailer during the month of May.

Cartograf has once again delivered top-shelf work on behalf of Accurate Miniatures. Decals for two new kits, 0402 Fw-190-A8 & 0410 F-4C/D Phantom II, came to our door today. These scans do not do justice to the level of detail Cartograf was able to capture within these designs.
We’ll post information with regard to the packaging for these kits soon. That way, you’ll know what to look for when you’re at the hobby shop!

Recently, a small aftermarket manufacturer chose to vent his anger at Accurate Miniatures in the public arena whereby model enthusiasts drew conclusions and took sides without having access to the complete situation. It points out all too clearly that the Hobby Industry in general and scale modeling specifically is a leisure pursuit for those who are participants and should be enjoyable. On a different level, the challenges of creating and introducing retail items for the market are fraught with endless choices and decisions required to create a new item. The market is best served when that work is creative and innovative. There is an essence of enjoyment brought about my creating new and unique items.
Duplicating or copying the work of others does not advance the hobby industry and as a company that has had it products copied by several plastic kit, die-cast, and even toy companies, those of us at Accurate Miniatures are painfully aware of the “easy path” as opposed to the challenge of in-house development. As such, the ultimate goal is to enrich the hobby in what has become a shrinking and less vibrant category in challenging economic conditions. One would hope that modelers of all ages would refocus their efforts to growing the hobby world in what ever way they can and minimize the amount of effort devoted to unproductive criticism.
